Early Pre-school Insight

Dear Parents,

We had such a fun week. We celebrated our family day with lots of fun. We hope you had a good time too! The school will be closed from Nov 5th to 9th for fall break and Teacher training.

Large Group

Our large group theme for this week was Numbers and Counting. We focused on numbers and counting. While we were reading books in our large group, we tried to focus on books that have numbers. We also focused on the differences and similarities of numbers and letters.

Small group

Math - Used 3D numbers and counting bears. We tried to correlate 3D numbers and their values. We tried to understand the concept of counting and how the last number counted tells how many.

Science – We continued our investigation on Sink and Float. We tried to see what materials float like a boat and what materials sink like Submarine we used rocks, seeds, coins, plants, and dry plants to investigate if they are heavy enough to drown or not. We all gave our predictions and were so excited to find out if our predictions were right or wrong.

Literacy – We practiced our writing skills by tracing different lines using markers. We also talked about how we can hold markers so it can be easy to write. We were happy to see how they helped each other.

Work-time

Our work-time stations this week were, Community, Cars and trucks, and newly created Bookstore.

Reminder

• The school will be closed form Nov 5th to 9th for fall break. See you all on the 12th.

• On Thursdays please make sure your child wears old clothes and shoes for art. Our art activity might get messy.

• Due to unknown weather conditions, Please pack both hot and cold weather clothes and gears

• Don’t forget to bring library folders on Wednesdays.
