Preschool and Early Pre-K

Just another fun week passed in our school, we hope you had the same week too! We are getting very good at the beginning sound of words and pictures. They enjoyed our favorite song called “Going on a bear hunt.”

We welcomed our new staff Martha to the school. She had huge experience working kids. We are so happy she joined us!

What we have done in our small group

Musical dot Monday; during our gymnastics class, we have observed

that our kids loved going around the musical dots, we changed it into a cooperative activities which are a musical dot were each of the kids stand on a dot and go around it when the music start to play and find a dot when the music stop but as the music plays on we (the teachers!) will take one dot out and it was so much fun for them to find a dot to stand on! We repeat the move until there is one dot to stand on. It was a friendly competition not to lose a dot!!

Next Monday; we are planning to do puzzles, we want to start from the small one to a little bit hard one, but they will help each other as they always do and figure it out…hopefully!!

Number matching math; we went back to identifying numbers to take a break from measurement!! And at the same time to refresh our memory. We divided them into two groups, and both groups did a well-done job.

Next Tuesday; Number hunting! We want to focus on number identification for a week, and we will go back to our measurement.

Sunflower Wednesday; after a long a good observation on our

sunflower, we had a good view about how our sunflower changed. We talked about how they sunflower died, and we could have watered it! And we promised that we would next time!!

Next Wednesday; we planned to have another sunflower garden in our school, around the grass area.

Literacy Thursday; we worked on Alliteration worksheet, which has animals on the paper, and they get to match the beginning sound of the animal name with Zoo-phonics letters. We challenged the Early Pre-K’s to match the pictures with the name of the animal in words, for example, match picture of a lion with “lion” and they pretty much got it all.

Our specials

Art: We finished our Rainbow project! They wanted to extend it to a different project, they came up with an idea of making Stars and Moon too. They said it would be better if we can use dark blue to make it look like the sky at night, so far this was the idea we talked about, stay tuned for more details!!!

Gymnastic and Music: It was fun and very challenging in our G&M class. Fun because they have been running and flipping on a mat, challenging because they tried to do hand stand on the wall, which they fell a lot of times but didn’t give up until they got it!!
