Early Pre-K and Preschool

Greetings

Kids always get curious when they see new things, ask a lot of questions and predict things. We brought a “bunny house” this week and it was all talk of the week! The bunnies will come soon, but the kids already made their prediction, some of them think it’s for chickens and convinced their teachers it will be nothing but chickens!! Others think it’s for dragons, the baby ones!! And others asked if we could do our activities inside!

What we have been doing in our small group

Puzzle Monday; we thought it would be a bit hard, but surprisingly they all figured it out quickly. We observed a lot of progress on their problem-solving.

Next Monday; it will be a cooperative game.

Numbers on Tuesday and Wednesday; we continued focusing on number identification and counting. We changed the materials but the focus was the same, we explored with number flags which we put numbers from 1-20 on each flags, and they identified the numbers and put beads on it. We also put number charts were they can count the numbers and set pieces of papers on it. For more observations, since we are going to move some of our kids in the next group, we repeated the activities on Wednesday.

Next Tuesday; we will be doing measuring the bear! We will have a worksheet where they can measure the “bear” with different materials.

Next Wednesday; we will have our talk about our sun flower, that its there season to die to give us another seed for us to plant another sunflower. We will also plant the some of the seed we have around the school grass area.

Matching Zoo-Phonics; in our literacy class, for observation purpose, we matched Zoo-Phonics with a flash card with Early Pre-K’s and the Pre-schoolers explored with the alligator alphabets and made their sounds.

Next Thursday; we are planning to introduce them to rhyming words.

In our specials

Music and Gymnastic: we are getting better and better in our flipping talent!! This week, we piled up the small pillows and did a hand flip on the mattress.

Art: our rainbow is getting more details, and now we have a sun on our rainbow. For next week we are planning to make night time, a lot of ideas were raised.
