A Fun and Learning - Filled week In Early Preschool and preschool!

Dear Parents,

We hope you had a wonderful week! We’ve had an exciting and action packed week in class, and we can’t wait to share all the wonderful activities the children have enjoyed. From engaging in creative literacy sessions to exploring textures in science, it's been a week of exploration, learning, and fun. We’d love to hear how your week has been as well! How have things been at home? We’re excited to continue this journey of learning together and look forward to another great week ahead!

Happy Birthday Joshua

Large group

Our large group had an exciting session filled with learning and fun! We kicked off with our “Good Morning” song, and followed that by taking attendance. The children were beyond eager to start the day! We then discussed the days of the week and talked about the weather for our message board. The children loved sharing their thoughts and observations. Our main topic this week was water animals, where we learned about hippos, starfish, turtles, fish, and even snakes. The children were fascinated by these creatures and asked lots of great questions! To wrap up, we read “I Wonder Who Peek-a-Boo”, a fun book about water animals. The children enjoyed it and participated so well throughout the entire session. It was a wonderful time, full of learning and fun!

Art

In our art session, the children dove into a world of color and creativity with a fun water animal stamping activity! Each child had the chance to pick their favorite paint colors and choose from a variety of water animals—like fish, starfish, seahorses, octopuses, and crabs. They dipped the animal shapes in the paint, pressed them onto their paper, and watched as their chosen creatures left colorful prints. It was a joyful experience to see the children's faces light up with excitement as they explored different colors and animal shapes. This hands-on activity was not only a creative outlet but also a wonderful opportunity for the children to learn about ocean life while having fun. The children loved it so much, and their vibrant creations are now proudly displayed!

Math

In our latest math session, we turned learning into a game with a fun twist on hopscotch! This time, instead of numbers, we used different shapes. The children were excited to hop, jump, and learn as they identified various shapes along the way. We set up a colorful grid with shapes like circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles. Each child took turns choosing a shape and jumping onto it. Not only did they enjoy the physical activity, but it also helped reinforce their knowledge of geometric shapes in a hands-on, interactive way. The shape hopscotch game was a great way to make learning fun while helping the children develop their shape recognition and motor skills. It was amazing to see how excited they were to jump from one shape to the next, all while enhancing their understanding of geometry!

Literacy

In our latest literacy session, the children got a chance to make their very own All About Me books, which was a great opportunity to share the things they love and know best. We discussed their favorite animals, fruits, colors, and more, diving into questions like "What’s your name?" "How old are you?" and "What are your favorite animals, fruits, and colors?" To make it even more exciting, we prepared a variety of pictures—animals, fruits, and colors—and the children matched them with their answers. Using glue, they carefully stuck their responses into their All About Me books, creating a fun, personalized keepsake. It was a wonderful experience to see each child's unique personality shine through as they worked on their books. The children were engaged, happy, and eager to share what they loved the most. It was a great way to build their literacy skills while celebrating their interests!

Gymnastics

In our latest gymnastics session, we kicked things off with a good stretch to warm up our bodies, followed by a little jogging to get our energy levels up. Once we were ready, we took the class outside to the grassy area for some exciting obstacle courses! We set up a series of challenges: three hula hoops to jump through, a tunnel to crawl through, and a ladder to climb. The children were absolutely thrilled as they took on each obstacle, eagerly trying their best at every turn. The excitement was contagious, and it was clear they were having a blast while building their coordination and motor skills. The best part? The children got to repeat the course twice, giving them a chance to improve and have even more fun. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and teamwork as they encouraged each other along the way. We look forward to more active sessions like this, where learning and movement go hand in hand!

Science

This week in our science session, we had a fun and hands-on experience with texture! We started by introducing the children to shaving foam, which they were a bit hesitant to touch at first. Some of the children weren’t sure about it, but once they dipped their hands into the foam, their curiosity took over, and they were soon fully engaged in the activity! After they got comfortable with the foam, we added different paints to create colorful mixtures. The children had a blast mixing the foam and paint together, creating a variety of colors and textures. Their faces lit up as they experimented with the foam, exploring how it felt and how the colors changed when combined. In the end, our table was a vibrant flurry of blue, white and pink. It was amazing to see how active and engaged the children were throughout the activity. They were excited to see the different results and even worked together, sharing ideas and enjoying the creative process. It was a great way to explore textures and colors in a fun and interactive way!
