Dear Parents,

We hope this blog finds you well! Here in the early preschool and preschool class, we’re excited to share all the fun and creativity we’ve had this week. Our little artists have been busy completing their third canvas, where they crafted adorable pink “mommy and baby” cats. It was such a joy to watch them bring their ideas to life! We also had a blast painting our clay car creations with a vibrant blue. The smiles and laughter were contagious as they worked on their projects. It’s been a week full of fun, learning, and creativity. We hope you had a wonderful week as well and that your weekend is just as exciting and enjoyable. Without further ado, here is our week in review!

Large group

Our large group session was filled with learning and laughter, as usual! We gathered in a circle to begin our day, starting by sharing stories about our morning. We sang our cheerful “Good Morning” song, creating a positive atmosphere to kick off the session. Next, we took attendance and talked about the days of the week and the weather. It was a great way to connect with each other and understand the world around us.

For our message board activity, we discussed airplanes. The students were excited to learn about the different parts of an airplane and explore whether airplanes are considered air, water, or land transportation. We also asked questions and shared personal experiences about flying in airplanes, making the discussion both fun and educational. It was a wonderful session where everyone had the chance to share, learn, and grow together!

Clay

This week in our clay session, our students reached a major milestone in their car project! We wrapped up the construction of their clay cars and got a chance to witness the exciting burning process. The students were curious about why the clay needs to go through this stage, and they understood the importance of firing to harden the clay and make it durable. Once the firing process was complete, it was time to add some color!

The students chose their favorite color, blue, for their cars, giving them a vibrant and personal touch. For the wheels, they selected black, while the lights were painted in bright red, adding the perfect finishing details. It was truly inspiring to see how well our students worked together and put their creativity into this project. We’re so proud of their efforts and the fantastic results they achieved!

Math

In our recent math session, we had an exciting color sorting activity that was both educational and engaging! We started by discussing different colors, such as blue, red, green, yellow, brown, purple, pink, and black, helping the students recognize and identify each one. After our colorful discussion, we asked the students about their favorite color. Then, we mixed a variety of colorful toys from our class collection—cups, unifix blocks, bears, and animals—into one big group. Each student was given a sheet of paper in their favorite color and was tasked with sorting the toys by color and matching them to their paper. The students were super active and fully engaged in the activity, happily sorting through the colorful toys and matching them to their paper. It was a wonderful, hands-on experience that helped reinforce both color recognition and sorting skills.

Art

This week in our art session, we embarked on our third canvas project, and it was a delightful experience! We began by discussing our students' interests, and it was clear that many of them were excited to create a cat. After hearing their input, they decided on a fun, bright color—pink—for the project. We kicked off by painting the background with brown paint, setting the perfect foundation for our canvas. Then, we guided the students in creating the shape of a cat.

To make it more interactive, the children helped by adding glue to the outline, and then we sprinkled pink rice on top, bringing the cat to life with texture. As the students got more creative, one child shared, “Let’s make a baby cat too!”. Thanks to this excellent suggestion, we added a small cat to the canvas, making it even more special. The final touch involved adding eyes, a nose, and a mouth with different  paint. It was an amazing learning opportunity for everyone involved, and the children were so engaged throughout the process. The session was filled with laughter, creativity, and teamwork. It was truly an enjoyable, educational time that we all cherished!

Gymnastics

In this week's gymnastics session, we began with a good stretching routine to prepare our bodies, followed by a light jog to get everyone moving. After warming up, we dove into the day's activity, focusing on both gross and fine motor skills. The students sat on the mat, holding a ball with their legs. They then tried to reach a specific spot, holding the ball by themselves along the way. Once they arrived, they dropped the ball into a basket. It was a fun and engaging activity, and the children got more than two turns each, practicing their coordination and having a great time in the process. It was a wonderful session filled with energy and lots of smiles!

Science

In our recent science session, we combined creativity with science by making airplanes from cardboard! We started by carefully cutting the cardboard into equal-sized pieces, focusing on precision. The children worked together, sticking the pieces with glue, learning the process of construction and teamwork. It was wonderful to see them engage, ask questions, and explain each step as they worked. The excitement in the room was contagious as everyone shared ideas. For this week, we completed the airplane body, and the kids are already looking forward to next week’s challenge of adding wings and finishing touches. It’s been a fantastic time learning through hands-on activities!
