A wonderful Week In Early Pre-K Class
Dear parents,
Read this blog to get an idea of how your child’s week went and the different activities he/she got to be part of.
Happy Birthday Julia
Here is our week in Brief,
Large group: This week in a large group we learned about who are our friends, and how could we be nice to them? We also shared about our weekends and traced numbers (1-20) on the board. This week’s number was number eighteen ‘18’ and the sound was letter ‘P’ sound. Moreover, the children also shared their interest which art works they made in the canvas they would like to take home.
Cooperative game: This week our class enjoyed the outdoor game we had which was ‘Freeze tag’. We started by explaining the game’s rules when we headed outside. The game incorporated a rule that every time we choose two new friends so they can try to freeze the rest.
Science: On Wednesday we went back to the volcano project that we made before using clay and decided that it would be very nice to paint it. The children thought that red, orange, and yellow would be the best colors to use to represent the lava so after preparing the paint each child chose one color of the three to paint the volcano.
Makerspace: Our class was really happy to go into the makerspace this week as they wanted to finish the project, we started in the previous sessions which is ‘Mini mouse’. We started off by looking at Mini mouse body parts that we painted and put together before, then we decided it needs to have a dress, so we colored a white paper and stick it on the body. And we finished the project by sticking the head and giving it two round ears!
Literacy: This week our class went through the zoo phonics which was a fun time for all as they were sharing the beginning sounds and the sounds they have in their names.
Library: On Thursday we read a book under the tittle “Cookie’s Week”. This story is about a cat named cookie and each day in the week it made a different kind of a mess such as going into the toilet, climbing up the curtain and going into the kitchen drawer and finally took rest on Sunday. Our class really loved the story as they were following the days of the week while listening to the story!
Art: This week in our art session we finished the canvas that we started last week which is ‘The cat’ canvas. We started by explaining the materials we are going to use which are the glue and the yarn, then one by one each child had a chance to choose the color of the yarn they want to use and where they want to stick it.
