Another Week in Early Pre-K

Dear parents,

Our class had an active and a wonderful week! Check our activities for this week.

Large group: For this week’s large group, we continued with the number eleven ‘11’ and the pentagon shape, though for the phonics this week focus was the ‘c’ sound. We continue learning about the months of the year and the kids now like to associate the months with each other’s birthdays.

Math: Our class is getting the concept of measuring more and more and they also started to have a measuring eye all around the school as they talk about how big, small, tall and heavy are the objects around them. This week we measured different objects using the unfix block, the kids were so excited to see the difference between the objects in length!

Science: As we are continuing our food topic this week we were learning about the vegetables and how much healthy they are to our bodies. We also talked about their different size and color.

Literacy: On this week literacy session, we started to learn about the rhyming words! We began with the words that end with ‘at’ and the vocabulary was ‘cat, hat, mat, sat, bat, rat’.

Library: As we are trying our best to emphasis the importance of using the magic words this week, we associated our story time with magic words. The story title was “The Polite Cat” who taught the lion how to be polite by saying please and thank you.

Art: Today we started working on our second canvas project which is a volcano! The kids had fun painting the background today with blue paint using a sponge. But before doing all of that we had a discussion about what a volcano is.
