Blog for Early Pre School and Preschool
Greeting parents,
We hope that you receive our message in a good health and spirit!
We are planning a celebration to mark the 100 days of school! This special day will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 31st. We ask you to celebrate with us by becoming involved with your child in planning for this day.
We will be completing all sorts of fun activities that day. As part of our plan, we have decided to wear different colored shirts that day, the chosen colors are PURPLE, RED, YELLOW, BLUE and PINK. Please help your child by choosing one of the colors to wear for Tuesday the 31st, the whole school will be participating in this!! You can also be creative and help them put different items that are 100 in number on their outfits (100 Buttons, Pins, Pompoms). The possibilities are endless!!
To make that day even more special, the school will have a fruit stand for all our students to have at snack time. We hope you are as excited as we are, Happy almost 100 days of school!!
What happened in this week?
Cooperative game: -Water play activities help to develop and strengthen children's gross and fine motor skills. Children enhance their gross motor skills, coordination, and physical fitness through lifting, pouring, carrying, running, and splashing, while actions such as squeezing help to develop the small muscles in a child's hands. So, having this in mind we had a water game this week, the game was to transfer water between buckets. We played the game in pair and had a competition. That was such a fun activity to carry a cup of water and run to win. Some of us splash the whole water in our clothes and some of us splash it in the floor. Other friends were cheering up for the players. We all enjoyed the game!
Literacy: - This week we were working on our zoo phonics. Our students were familiarized with the alphabet; reciting, identifying, and producing the sounds of the individual letters.
We revised the letters from Aa-Hh by asking and showing the flash cards. After that we introduced Ii-Jj. The students we very excited to know these letters, they were forming words with the beginning letters.
"J Is for jelly when I eat jelly my tummy wiggling “
"Here take a fruit to make j juice"
"I love to eat banana flavor jam"
" ’I’ is for igloo we need to put jacket, boot, raincoat and scarf to get there "
Science: - this week we were busy playing and molding shapes with mud. Mud Play is important for children to develop and practice their fine and gross motor skills, increase awareness of their senses, particularly touch, improve hand/eye coordination and develop their social and emotional skills, including taking turns and leading/following directions. We all were busy molding different shapes like: -dolphin, dinosaurs, king, even we were trying to make sweater, and many more. They all were exited and joyful to play and explore with mud.
Art: -this week it was the time to make over our project.
We were all curious to finish up the castle so, we make a roof by cutting papers and roll it then we put glue to stick a sand on it. After that we put it on the top of the castle. But we need to wait till it dry, so we postponed finishing it in the coming week.
Makerspace: - Makerspace classes are not only great way for kids to learn by doing, but they also encourage their creativity and provide an outlet for them to be innovative. A makerspace is simply a place where kids gather to explore materials and tools to make things. We explore in our makerspace by discussing how to make things in there and try how they work. We look on the light box by putting shapes on it was such bright to see on it. And look around to see what that class is for and things that have been done before that was amazing to see objects made from trash and loose objects. We all like the place very much so we plan to make robot in group for the coming class.
“I think this place is place we can make food.”
“Makerspace is place which have lots of sign.”
Gymnastics: - Gymnastics classes are becoming our favorite class because it helps us to develop our strength, coordination, flexibility, balance, cognitive development, and social and emotional development. By stretching and warming up we start our physical exercise. After than we practice flipping upside down on a mattress and rolling on a mat. we all enjoyed this class.
