Blog for pre k and kindergarten
Hello dear parents!
We went through a wonderful week! We would like to thank the parents who
participated in the parent teacher conference! Discussing in a teacher - parent
conference has a big impact on the children's performance and self-confidence! Such events create a better understanding on curriculum and give a chance for teachers and parents to work together by setting an action plan for their child!
All about this week!
Our large group was so busy planning for our fall break! We were planning all the
activities that we can do with our friends and families during fall break and when
we come back!
Here are some plans!
I'm going to go to Sudan'
I will visit all my friends and play with them
I'm going to visit my dad's workplace'
'I think, I'm going to treat my little sister'
What was our small group all about this week?
Literacy, Mathematics, Music and Movement, Journal and Science were the
activities we explored!
Literacy
We all were busy practicing our zoo-phonics! Why is it important to learn phonics?
Learning phonics is one of the ways to develop the necessary skills to read and
write. It's a well-established predictor of children's literacy in later life! Learning in a fun way helps connect all areas of learning and this will give them more interest in learning for the long term!
Mathematics
We keep discussing and working on numbers. In this week, we worked on one digit
numbers! The pre k were trying to identify the figure of one-digit numbers and the
kindergarten were discussing about why the numbers 0 to 9 are called one digit!
Music and Movement
Music and Movement instruction has been shown to improve children’s memory,
cognitive development learning and expressive ability! We did a musical dot in
outside! Our group was really engaged listening to music and dancing at the same
time standing on dots when the music stops!
Art
Our group was exploring different kinds of paint and blowing on a paper then got to
be surprised to find an abstract picture! When kids are engaged in creative
activities like painting, they’re stimulating their brain by using their memory as well
as decision making and problem-solving skills!
Science
The pre k and kindergarten discussed about lungs! We were breathing in and out
and try to understand the function of lungs!
