Creativity and Excitement in the Early preschool Class

Dear parents,

Our vibrant early preschool and preschool class had another successful week! We hope your week was great as well!

Happy Birthday Ami

Large group

In our large group sessions, we always have a delightful and engaging time together. This week, we began by singing our "Good Morning" song, which always sets a cheerful tone for the day. After that, we took attendance and made sure everyone was here and ready to learn. The weather was the next topic of discussion, where the students shared what they observed outside. We also talked about the days of the week, reinforcing the sequence and helping the children understand time a little better. For our message board activity, the students practiced matching different shapes and numbers. It was amazing to see them working one by one, practicing their skills and learning through hands-on activities.

Small group

Art

In our latest art session, we explored the vibrant world of thread art. We began by introducing the activity to the students, explaining the steps and letting them choose their favorite color of thread. Each student was excited to start, and it was wonderful to see how quickly they connected with the creative process. The next step involved cutting the thread using scissors, which helped the students practice their fine motor skills. Once the threads were cut, we mixed them with glue, encouraging the students to experiment with the amount they used.

After that, the real fun began! The students stuck the colorful threads onto their sheets of paper, arranging and separating them in different patterns to create unique, beautiful pieces of art. Watching them work with such focus and joy was a highlight of the session. Everyone was fully immersed in the activity, and their excitement was contagious.

Cooperative game

In our cooperative game session we played an exciting rendition of a classic- the musical chair game. We set up chairs in a circle, one fewer than the number of children playing, and chose a lively playlist for the game. As the music played, the kids danced and walked around the chairs, enjoying the rhythm and each other's company. When the music suddenly stopped, they had to quickly find a chair and sit down. If they didn't make it in time, they were out, but the atmosphere remained supportive and fun!

What made this version special was the cooperative spirit – even though only one child could sit in each chair, everyone cheered for their friends and celebrated the fun moments together. It was a wonderful way to combine movement, teamwork, and friendly competition in one game.

Math

In our recent math session, we had a blast exploring different shapes! We discussed a variety of basic shapes, including triangles, squares, rectangles, circles, ovals, hearts, and diamonds. The students were eager to learn about the unique properties of each shape, and we spent time identifying them in everyday objects.

To reinforce their learning, we gave them a "matching shapes" worksheet. The students worked diligently and did an excellent job connecting the shapes with their corresponding images. It was a fun and interactive way to strengthen their understanding of geometry.

Literacy

Today’s literacy session was full of energy and creativity as we explored the first few letters of the alphabet using the Zoophonics method. We began by introducing the sounds and motions for letters A through G, helping the students associate each letter with its corresponding animal sound and movement. It was wonderful to see how engaged the students were as they acted out the motions, bringing each letter to life!

After learning the sounds and motions, the children had the chance to further reinforce their understanding by tracing the letters using playdough. The tactile activity not only strengthened their letter recognition but also added an extra layer of fun to the learning process. Watching the kids create and shape their letters with the playdough was a truly enjoyable experience.

Science

In our recent science session, we embarked on a fun and interactive tasting activity that helped students explore the fascinating world of taste sensations. The experiment focused on contrasting flavors—sweet vs. salty, sour vs. sweet—to engage the students' senses and spark curiosity about how we perceive different tastes.

Students tasted a variety of foods, including sugar and salt, orange and lemon, and banana, experiencing the clear differences between sweet, sour, and salty flavors. The activity not only helped them understand the science behind taste perception but also encouraged discussions on how our taste buds work and how different foods can trigger specific reactions in our brains.

This hands-on experience was a great way to make science both fun and memorable, showing students how our senses play a crucial role in how we interact with the world around us. It was a perfect blend of learning and tasting, sparking new interest in the science of sensory perception!
