Early Pre-K This Week
Dear parents,
As the weeks go by and we are heading towards the end of the first term of the academic year we would like to say that we feel happy and proud of all the improvement that our early pre-k class has achieved!
What we had for this week
Large group: This week in our large group our class shared how do they feel about the new classroom, and they all were happy to be in this new room. For this week we had purple as the color of the week, the star as the shape and the number ‘7’ as the number of the week. The students enjoyed looking for purple inside the class.
“7 just like the days of the week.”
“I have purple on my pillow.”
Math: This week for math we work on shapes identification for the shapes we have covered so far (circle, triangle, square, heart, and star). The students loved the activity where they had the chance to take a shape out of a bag without looking in, then share with the rest of the class the name of it.
Cooperative game: For cooperative game this week we had the ‘Traffic Lights’ game which is associated with our science topic ‘Transportation’. In the activity the students walked when they saw the green light and stopped when they saw the red light “Just like a car” as one of our students shared. Our class had a lot of fun with this game!
Literacy: For this week literacy class we went through zoo phonics. Then we traced the zoo phonics using playdough.
Music: On this week’s Music class, we had another chance with exploring musical instruments as our students never get tired with trying the instruments and listen to the sounds coming out of them. We ended up our music class by dancing on the ‘free song’ beats and instructions.
Science: As we are still working on the transportation topic this week was about the air transportation. Our class was interested to know the different types of transportation that go in the air, and they also shared about their experience on airplane.
“The airplane is so so big!”
“The rocket is very fast!”
Library: For this week library class, we had an interesting story that all the students listened attentively to. The story tittle was “There was an old lady who swallowed a fly” and it talks about an old lady who swallowed seven animals.
Art: Art class was associated with the water transportation. First the students painted a white paper with a blue paint representing the water then the created their sailing boats on the water.
Gymnastic: For todays gymnastic class we started with some stretching and then we worked on a new position called ‘Split’. The split position helps increase range of motion, better posture and improve flexibility.
