Early Pre-K This Week

Dear parents,

We hope you had a great week as we did in our early pre-k class! Check our activities for this week as we keep growing and learning.

Happy birthday Noam

Large group: On our large group this week we continued with number 12, the hexagon shape and for the sound of the week we had the ‘e’ sound. Our morning messages were about rhyming words, all the colors we had covered so far and counting and writing numbers 1-15.

“Hexagon six sides” Julia

“Twelve” Solomon

“Purple” Hongyu

Math: We ended up our measurement topic by learning two new concepts ‘High and low’. We had a game where we used a blue jumping rope as a river and each child got to jump over it and chose for the river to be high or low.

“Noha, let’s go under the river” Noam

Music: This week we associated the new math concept with music lesson. We played our shakers to the beat of the song “I can play on the beat”. We played the shakers up high, down low, fast and slow then we got a chance to explore other musical instruments.

Science: Continuing with our food theme this week we learnt about the different types of meat we eat such as ‘Chicken, fish, meat’.

“The fish in the water” Leopold

Literacy: On the literacy session this week we worked on our phonological awareness. We headed out to the grass area where we hid the zoo phonics flash cards and the kids went hunting for them. They were so excited looking for the zoo phonics!

Library: As for the kids’ request, we read “The very busy spider” story again.

“The spider didn’t answer” Leul

Art: On our art sessions this week we finished another canvas. We started off by painting the back ground using the black paint the we did the stamping art using a tissue role and the colors of the paint the kids’ chose. Each time we work on a canvas the kids are getting a better understanding of what a group work is and how good projects we can produce when we work all together.

Gymnastics: Today in our gymnastic session we started off with warming up then we practiced the spilt move using musical dots!
