Early Preschool and Preschool

Dear parents,

The week we had was amazing!

What did we do this week?

The past couple of weeks we have been starting out large group by dancing to different songs, songs like Big Old Tree, Elephants have Wrinkles and I Like to Move It. Following our dancing time we worked on our attendance to see who is here and who is not, after that we sang either the Hello or Good Moring song. After that we talk about the days of the week and the weather of the day. Following our discussion of the weather of the day we talked about different numbers starting from one, the number of the week for this week was the number 7.

This week for small group we Cooperative Games, Literacy, Science, Math and Library.

During our Cooperative Games we had a fun time playing ball-hunting activity. During this activity we went outside to the grass area and hid different colored balls all around the garden. So when we went out into the garden we told the children that there are balls hiding all around our garden and that they have to find all of them and put them in a basket. But the trike was that they can’t go near the basket, they had to shot the ball form a distance a little further from the basket.

This week for Literacy we continued exploring with letters. The letter we talked about this week was the letter ‘F’. We stared the activity by introducing a new zoo-phonic friend to the group her name was Francy fish. During our activity we talked about the sound she makes. Following that we gave the children a print out of the letter ‘f’, the children enjoyed tracing the letter using markers and play dough.

And for Science this week continued on our gardening project. This week we had a fun time making rows using our hands and then planting the seeds before covering up the seed using the soil they dag out. And finally added a little amount of water

Our work time centers for this week were; Blocks, Ethiopian Center, Water, Art, and Music and Movement.
