Early Preschool and preschool's Creative Week in Highlights
Dear Parents,
We had an amazing week in Early Preschool and Preschool, and we hope your week has been just as wonderful! This week, we proudly finished our first canvas project in art and also started our individual clay projects. It’s been a week full of creativity and fun, and we’re excited to share these highlights with you. We hope you enjoy hearing about the great progress our little artists have made in and outside of the art studio!
Large group
In our large group, we have our routine solidified- we start each day by sitting in a circle, where we greet each student and ask about their morning and breakfast choices. We then sing our cheerful "Good Morning" song, creating a positive ambiance to start the day. After taking attendance, we discuss the day of the week and the weather. On our message board, we focus on important classroom rules, like how to ask questions politely and play gently with friends. This routine helps set a welcoming and respectful tone for the rest of the day.

Library
This week’s library session was a delightful experience as we read the charming book “Ello the Elephant”. The story follows Ello, a dancing elephant, who accidentally pushes some ants while moving to the beat. The ants kindly remind Ello to be more careful, and he quickly apologizes. Ello then dances more carefully, and the ants are happy with his new moves. As we read, the children were completely engaged, eagerly waiting to find out what would happen on the next page. Their excitement and focus were wonderful to see. After the story, the students had the chance to choose a book to take home, which was a perfect way to end the session on a high note. We all had a blast, and it was heartwarming to see the class so happy and involved!
Cooperative game
This week, our cooperative game session was full of teamwork and creativity! The students worked together to create a large drawing on chart paper. Each child chose their favorite markers and added their personal touch to the artwork. It was wonderful to see everyone contributing and collaborating. The children focused and worked together, making sure their drawings were neat and vibrant. Once the artwork was complete, we stacked the chart paper on the wall, and the result was both amusing and impressive! It was a fantastic session that showcased their creativity and teamwork.
Clay
Our recent clay session was filled with creativity and fun! Each student worked on their individual project, shaping amazing creations like cars, princesses, crocodiles, sharks, and much more. With the guidance and support of our talented clay teacher, the children were able to bring their ideas to life. It was truly exciting to witness their imagination and skills grow as they molded their clay masterpieces. The session was a great opportunity for the children to express themselves, and we couldn’t be more proud of their development and creativity. It was a fantastic time, and we can't wait for the next session!
Art
In our latest art session, we completed our very first canvas project, and it was an exciting and fun experience for both our students and teacher. Our art teacher started by sketching a dinosaur on the canvas, and the students took it from there! They created a mixture of paper tissue and glue, which they carefully applied over the dinosaur sketch, adding texture and depth to their artwork.
Once the canvas was prepared, we placed it in a sunny spot for two days to dry completely. When it was finally ready, we asked the students to choose their paint colors. The majority selected green, and they enthusiastically painted the dinosaur. At the same time, some students added trees and other small details, using vibrant orange paint to bring even more life to the scene. The outcome was fantastic, and the whole process was truly enjoyable. It was a great time for creativity, teamwork, and fun!
Science
In our recent science session, we explored different types of transportation, focusing on water transport like ships, boats, and jet skis. The students were excited to learn how these vehicles move across water. We then made the lesson interactive by mixing up flashcards of water, air, and land transportation. The students had a great time sorting the cards one by one into the correct categories. This activity helped them better understand the different types of transportation and how they work. It was an engaging and informative session that allowed the children to learn in a hands-on way!
Literacy
In our literacy session, our focus was on Zoo phonics, and we had a fantastic time exploring the letters A to Z. The kids were fully engaged and actively participated in the activities, showing great enthusiasm. They loved demonstrating the motions and actions associated with each letter, bringing the learning to life in a fun and interactive way. It was a wonderful session, full of energy and excitement, as the children eagerly grasped the connection between letters and their sounds.
