Full Fun in Early Preschool!
Dear parents,
How was your week? We had an amazing week in Early Preschool and Preschool! We’re very excited to share the highlights with you.
Large group
During our large group sessions, we engaged in various activities - singing songs, discussing the children’s morning routines, breakfast choices, taking attendance, exploring days of the week and weather, and reading a book called "How to clean your teeth". The children enjoyed every single moment of these diverse activities!
Art
In our art session, we had a fantastic time diving into the world of shape stamping! This hands-on activity allowed our students to express their creativity while developing fine motor skills. To kick off the session, we prepared an array of their favorite colors and provided each child with a tissue roll. The process was simple yet engaging: the kids dipped the tissue rolls into vibrant paints and then pressed them onto paper, creating unique circle shapes. The children had a blast working through this artistic process, and the final result was dazzling!
Math
In our math session, we focused on counting numbers 1 to 5 using a fun and interactive approach. The students began by practicing their dot counting, which laid a solid foundation for understanding numbers. To make the lesson even more engaging, we introduced an art component. Each student received glue along with an assortment of seeds and colorful pom poms. Their task was to stick the materials onto the dots representing each number.
The room was filled with concentration as students carefully placed their seeds and pompoms on the dots. It was amazing to see their focus and creativity in action.
Literacy
In our recent literacy session, we engaged students in a hands-on activity that not only reinforced their understanding of letters but also showcased their sorting abilities. The focus was on matching small cards featuring zoophonic letters with their corresponding large letters. Each student took turns picking a small letter card. This moment of anticipation built excitement as they were eager to find the matching large letter. Once they identified the correct letter, they paired them up, creating a visual representation of their learning. This process encouraged them to think critically about the relationships between letters and their sounds. It was wonderful to see the students actively participating and supporting each other. Some were able to quickly find matches, while others took their time, demonstrating thoughtful consideration. This diversity in skill levels created a collaborative atmosphere where students could learn from one another. We are so proud of our class!
Gymnastics
This week’s gymnastics session kicked off with a brief warm-up, setting the stage for an exciting day focused on balance. After a few minutes of dynamic stretching and light cardio to get our muscles ready, we dove into an engaging activity designed to challenge our stability and coordination.
The main event of the day was walking on a balance board while using two balloons. This unique exercise not only tested our physical balance but also our ability to focus and maintain control. As we stepped onto the board, we had to carefully manage our movements to keep the balloons from touching the ground. It was a fun and playful way to practice balance, turning a serious skill into an enjoyable game.
Clay
This week, our students had an exciting opportunity to dive into the world of clay! With each session, their creativity blossomed as they experimented with different shapes and designs. The hands-on experience allowed them to explore various techniques, from molding and shaping to texturing. Many students chose to create delicious-looking food items, showcasing their imaginations and attention to detail. In addition to food, students also enjoyed making clay balls, each one unique in its design and size.
