Fun Week In Our Kindergarten!!!

Hello dear parents,

How did your week go by? Our week was a week filled with a lot of learning and sharing experiences and also, we were doing some research on the invention of Tv. We were also learning about compost materials and blending words.

Large group

For our large group session, we started by singing the good morning song. Green was our color for this week while Rectangle was our shape for the week. We have been discussing about maker space and also how we can use recycled materials to create the things that they want to, we have been also discussing compost and recycled materials and we were really amazed by their ideas. They all had an idea to share. Participating in the circle time Calendar activity strengthened our time management skills, and sharing our days allowed us to connect with one another.

Literacy

This week for our literacy session we did blending words pl, gl and sl as well as we did the vowel letters. All the kids were engaged and happy about the activity that we were doing. We were circling words blending with bl and underlining the words that were blending sl and at last we were making zigzag the words that were blending gl. They were engaged as well as having fun while doing the activities.

Math

This week in our math session, we focused on measurement. We used water cups as measuring tools. As part of the activity, we labeled each cup with a specific number to enable the children to measure water accurately using these markings. The activity proved to be engaging for all, encouraging the coordination of their eye-hand movements and refining their fine motor skills as they carefully handled jugs filled with water..

Maker space

This week, we began working on our Maker Space project. After sketching their ideas on paper last week, they have now transformed these concepts into reality. What's truly impressive is their resourcefulness in selecting materials for their projects. They have been choosing recycled materials, showcasing their creativity.

Science

This week our science session was all about collecting compost material from our school compound, which are the dried leaves, banana peels and materials they have that will be useful for our science project. We have also discussed the difference between the recycling bins, and we use the green ones for compost and the red for recycling materials. We had a fun and engaging class.

Library

This week for our library session we read the book ‘The polite cat’’ which they choose to read and they were eager and excited to listen how the cat was polite in the story, after reading the book together they choose a book by themselves and were reading with friends and alone, they had an amazing library day.

Art

This week for our art session we did a little bit of research all together about when Tv was invented and who invented it and all the kids were excited and even applauded at last after watching the video. After doing the research we talked a little bit about what we all see through Tv and they all had amazing ideas to sketch on a piece of paper.

-  Every Wednesday is our library day, so we will be sending a book that your child picked from our library, which will be returned after a week on library day.

-  Every Wednesday we have Football, so please send your child with football appropriate clothing.

-  Every Thursday is our art day so please send your child with art appropriate clothing.
