Infant and Toddlers Weekly Blog

Dear parents

We were happy to meet the children after the break and they seemed like they have missed being in school with friends and teachers!

Large group

This week in our large group was amazing. We did a lot of activities. We started by singing "Good Morning" After that, we listened to a song called "Down by the Jungle" and did some actions. We worked on taking attendance. If someone was present, we jumped like a frog towards them, and they put a happy face sticker on the attendance chart. Finally, we read the book "Little Lion Shares" together.

Passing water

For our water passing activity, we set up cups, ice cream cups, taps, and a table. We then demonstrated to the children how to pass water to their friends. Each child was given a cup, and they took turns passing water to each other. Afterward, we switched up the activity and gave each child another cup to fill with water and pour into another cup.

Haunting letters

For our literacy class, we organized a fun activity outside. We hid letters in the colorful rice. Before starting the activity, we sang the ABCD song. Each child got the opportunity to find two or three letters. They were very excited to participate in this activity."

Art

During this week's session, the children had the opportunity to create dot art using various materials such as markers, sticks, and sponges. We began by painting the canvas black before letting each child select their preferred material and paint color to create the dots. Additionally, we made another art using toy cars. For this canvas, we prepared different colors of paint and had each child dip the car's wheels in their chosen color before rolling them on the canvas.

Science

In our science class, we conducted an experiment that got all the kids excited and engaged. We started by pairing the children in twos and giving each pair a Ziploc bag. Then, we provided them with three materials: water, food color, and oil. The children worked together as a team to put these materials in the Ziploc bag and closed it. After that, they thoroughly enjoyed mixing the contents inside the bag.

Math

For the past two weeks, we have worked on the opposite concept. We continued the idea this week but learned about light and heavy with different materials like pianos, balloons, cotton, water bottle and rock.  Then the children started carrying the different materials to sense the difference.
