Kindergartens exciting week

Greetings Dear Parents!

How was your week? Our week was great. We had lots of fun. The class got a chance to review some topics and concepts from throughout the school year, and tried out some new activities as well. Also, we have an exciting announcement!

Next week, to end the school year with a fun twist, we will be doing our first LE Spirit Week. Please see the flyer below for information regarding that.

 Large Group

We began by singing the "Good morning" song. After that we read a book together as a group. We also engaged in a circle time activity and played some of the class’s favorite games. In addition to this, to make the last few weeks of school extra special, we also sang their favorite songs! They all enjoyed this very much, and made some wonderful memories together.

Literacy

In this week’s literary sessions we did an "All about me" worksheet. This helped the children with understanding their own identity and personality. Furthermore, activities like this can help develop a deeper understanding of and sense of self. There is also a component of communication and collaboration, where the children get to share their insights with friends and classmates.

Math

In our math sessions we did "Dot to Dot design". In this activity the children learned about how holding and using the markers requires precise movements of the hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. Additionally, the worksheet asked the students to replicate this dot-to-dot design afterwards in an empty box, which they enjoyed doing very much.

Science

In our science the class tried something very exciting with a familiar material- making play dough! Although the children often use play dough, we haven’t had a chance up until now to make it from scratch as a class. Making play dough is the perfect way to introduce the child to skills like measuring and following a series of instructions. This was also a great activity to help develop hand, eye, arm and body coordination as well as finger and hand muscles. The movements that contribute to these skills are squeezing, patting, rolling and pinching. So, for making play dough we used salt, oil, flour, water and food color. Then by mixing all the ingredients the children made their very own play dough! The kids were so happy and it was so much fun.
