Learning and Growing In Infant Class!
Dear Parents,
We are delighted to share what an incredible two weeks it has been in the Infants Class! Our little ones have been joyfully exploring and engaging in a variety of stimulating and enjoyable activities.
We’re so proud of the children’s enthusiasm and growth over these two weeks and look forward to continuing this wonderful journey of learning and discovery together!
Large Group
We had a fun and engaging time in our large group sessions, as usual! In the recent days, we have been starting with the "Good Morning" song to welcome everyone. Then, we sang "Clap and Stamp" and "How Much is That Doggie in the Window," which the children really enjoyed. After singing, we did our attendance routine, where the children were thrilled to recognize their names and photos. We read the “That's Not My…” book, and the children loved it so much that they asked to read it again!
We wrapped up the session by standing up and dancing to the lively song “I Like to Move It”, which is quickly becoming a classroom classic! We are so proud to see how the children were fully engaged with these activities.
Cooperative Game
For our most recent cooperative game session, we had a wonderful activity outside in the grass area! We placed a mat on the grass to ensure the children were comfortable and safe. First, we held hands to form a big circle together. We explained the game to the children—passing the ball around the circle to their friends and teachers. The children were excited to pass the ball and wait for their turn. They enjoyed connecting with their friends and teachers while practicing turn-taking and coordination. It was a joyful and active session, and the children had a blast playing together!
Gymnastics
In our gymnastics session, we had an exciting activity to help the children develop their motor skills and coordination. We set up the activity outside in the grass area with mattress for rolling, a balancing area, and a tunnel for crawling. We first demonstrated each step of the activity so the children could see what to do. Each child went one by one, and they were excited to cheer for their friends while waiting for their turn. The children had a fantastic time while improving their physical coordination and confidence.
Literacy and Language
During our literacy and language activity, we focused on creativity and self-expression and the children made their very own journals! The children were given the chance to choose their favorite colored papers and crayons to make their journals. Each child worked on their paper, drawing whatever they liked. They were very focused and excited to share their creations. After drawing, the children described their artwork:
Abeba shared, “I make mommy and daddy.”
Noura said, “Car for daddy”.
Liora exclaimed "Big house"!
Art
In art class, the infants class did something special and relatable to our classroom topics- exploring shape stamping! We used colorful paper, paint in different colors, and circle shapes of various sizes. Each child got to choose their favorite paper and paint colors. They then dipped the circle shapes into the paint and stamped them onto the paper, creating beautiful patterns. This activity was not only fun but also helped develop their creativity, fine motor skills, and color recognition. The children were fully engaged and enjoyed expressing themselves through art!
Science
In science class, we explored color mixing in a fun and hands-on way! We used Ziploc bags filled with two different paint colors. After sealing the bags securely, we handed them to the children to squish and mix the paints inside. The children were excited to see how two colors blended together to create a new color. This activity encouraged curiosity, sensory exploration, and understanding of basic color theory. It was a delightful and engaging experience for everyone!
Math
In math class, we introduced the concept of circles in a fun and interactive way! The children practiced identifying and matching shapes by placing small circles onto a big circle. This activity helped them develop shape recognition, fine motor skills, and hand-eye coordination. The children enjoyed exploring the shapes and were excited to complete the activity!
