First Blog of Infants Class!
Dear Parents,
Welcome to our Academic Year 2024/25! Our first two weeks began with a lot of energy and excitement. We started each day with warm greetings, hugs, and high-fives, ensuring each child felt welcomed and valued. This joyful start laid the foundation for a series of engaging activities designed to foster connections with friends and teachers.
Large Group
Our large group session started with the "Good Morning" song, which set a cheerful mood for the day. We continued with the fun and rhythmic "Five Little Monkeys," which had everyone singing and clapping along. After our songs, we gathered around for a captivating read of "My First Book of Transport," exploring various modes of transportation through colorful illustrations and engaging storytelling.
Gymnastics
In our gymnastics session, we focused on stretching and exploring different body movements. The kids were thoroughly engaged, enjoying each stretch and movement with enthusiasm. It was wonderful to see their excitement as they practiced their coordination and flexibility.
Musical Exploration
Music time was a hit, with various songs and instruments taking center stage. We sang a variety of songs and explored different musical instruments, allowing each child to discover their musical preferences. The joy on their faces was evident as they asked to sing their favorite songs again, making it clear that our music session was a favorite among them.
Science
Our science session was a sensory adventure of different textures! The kids were really interested in the activity, especially with the hands-on approach of touching and sitting on various materials. Observing their facial expressions was a great way to understand their reactions to the different textures.
Literacy
Our literacy session utilized puzzles to assess and enhance various skills. The children’s engagement with the puzzles had them using words like "Cat", "train", and "pig " to describe the pictures they saw, demonstrating their developing vocabulary and observation skills. Swapping puzzles with friends also shows their inclination towards problem solving and sharing. This interactive approach not only supports fine motor skills but also encourages communication and social interaction.
Overall, it was a fantastic start to the year, filled with engaging activities that brought smiles and laughter to all. We look forward to continuing this journey of learning and fun with our wonderful kids!
Math
In our recent activity for infants and toddlers, the children had a fantastic time filling and dumping rice using cups of different sizes. This hands-on experience was not only fun but also highly engaging, as the little ones eagerly scooped rice into the cups and poured it out. As they worked with the rice, they practiced counting the number of scoops needed to fill each cup, which introduced them to basic numerical concepts. The activity effectively combined sensory play with early math skills, capturing the children's interest and keeping them actively involved throughout.
