Hello dear parents,

What a wonderful week we had filled with a lot of exciting activities and explorations.

We would like to thank you all for joining us on Saturday for family day, the children were really excited to have their families here at school and they have been talking about all the things they did during that day.

What have we been up to this week?

This week during small group explorations we had lots of fun engaging in different activities. The activities were Math, Science, Literacy, Cooperative games and Library.

Math: this week for math we had a number tracing activity. During our activity we drew numbers on our board so that the children can trace on the board. So one by one they traced the numbers on the board.

The numbers we traced during our activity were 1-15.

Science: we had a prediction-based activity this week during our science day. During our activity we tried mixing oil with water and see if they mix or not. All the children put down their prediction; some said that the oil would float, while some said that they would mix and the last prediction was that oil would sink to the bottom.

We started the activity by mixing water with food coloring so that we could see we can see the difference as water and oil have slightly similar colors. After we had mixed water and food color we pulled the mixture using syringes, after that we took turns pouring the mixture slowly into the oil. The children were excited to see that they had not mixed and little dots of wate and food color were floating on top of the oil.

Literacy: during our literacy day , we had a fun time performing puppet shows for our friends.

We prepared this activity again because during our large group time we noticed that the children liked to share different stories with their friends. During our activity the children chose two puppets and then hid behind a mattress and told their friends different stories that they came up with. We had a wonderful time!
