Dear Parents,

What a wonderful week we had! Our classroom is getting bigger as we welcome back almost all the children.

What did we do this week?

This week for the large group we had a great time singing and dancing to different songs that the children choose, finger plays and read this week’s book ‘At the Park’.

Music; is a fun way of developing children’s physical growth, confidence, social and communication skills! Even though music is part of our daily routine, our group never gets tired of moving and listening to the music, easily following the simple music direction, and enjoying the movement.

Language: we explored with the zoo-phonics friends. For this week we started by introducing the letters, A, B, C D, and E. we talked about what their names are, what kind of sounds they make and what kind of action they do as they make their sound. The children are really getting interested in exploring more with the zoo phonics.

Library; we put different books in our classroom and we let the children pick what book they like and read. We sat down to explore the different books and cheek out a new book to take home!

Math; our math activity this week was number tracing. We started our activity by singing the Rumba song, after that we gave them big size numbers and a lid so they can trace with it. We gave them some minutes to see, touch, and talk about what each number looks like. They were really interested in tracing the number by using small muscles and enjoyed the activity.

Our work time centres were Blocks and Games, Hospital, Sand box, Ethiopian center, and our special Art.

We had a great time at the hospital centre exploring different areas and the children pretending to be a doctor, driving the ambulance, taking care of the baby dolls, preparing foods for the patient.
