Dear Parents,

We’ve had a wonderful two weeks filled with fun and exciting activities! Your little ones have been actively engaged in large group time, music, gymnastics, literacy and language, science, math and more! It has truly been a joy to see them explore, learn, and grow each day.

Free choice

Free choice time has been a wonderful experience for the children in our new, beautiful compound. They are eagerly exploring the new materials, showing curiosity and excitement as they engage in different activities. The children observe their surroundings with interest, discovering new spaces and ways to play. They enjoy interacting with one another, playing together joyfully and building connections. It has been a delight to see them embrace this environment with so much enthusiasm!

Large group

Large group time has been a joyful and engaging part of our day! We begin by singing the Good Morning Song, where the children excitedly wave their hands and greet their teachers and friends. They take turns calling their names and saying “Good morning,” building a sense of community and connection. After greetings, we invite the children to choose a song, and they enthusiastically pick their favorites, like "Baa Baa Black Sheep" and "Alibaba farm". Their excitement filled the room as they sang and moved along to the music. Next, we transitioned to our attendance routine, which has a new interactive element! This time, we placed our attendance sheet in front of a mirror. The children gather around, eagerly recognizing their reflections and engaging with the activity in a fun and meaningful way.

Music

During the music session, we began by placing the musical instruments in the center of the circle. This allowed the children to see all the available options and gave them a chance to choose their favorite instrument. One by one, they picked an instrument, excited to explore its sounds and textures. Once everyone had their instrument, we started the music. As the rhythm plays, the children engaged in exploring their instruments—shaking, tapping, or strumming along with the beat. They enjoyed the freedom to experiment with different sounds while moving their bodies to the music.

Gymnastics

In gymnastics class, we began with a stretching activity using a big ball. One at a time, each child takes turns stretching their body with the ball, engaging their muscles in a fun and gentle way. This activity helps improve flexibility and body awareness while allowing them to focus on their movements. As they stretch, they feel relaxed and enjoy the experience. The slow, intentional movements help them develop coordination and balance. The children look forward to this activity, appreciating both the physical engagement and the calming effect it brings.

Language and literacy

During the literacy and language activity in our class, the children engaged in exploring and identifying pictures of everyday items such as a jacket, t-shirt, shoes, socks, sunglasses, water bottle, lunch box, spoon, and fork. They interacted with these objects, recognizing and naming them as part of their learning experience. Most of the children already knew the names of these items. As they took turns identifying them, they confidently said the words aloud. They also enjoy repeating the names together, reinforcing their language skills through repetition and engagement. The activity brought excitement and joy, as they felt proud of their ability to recognize and name familiar objects.

Science

During our science session, we conducted a tasting activity with various fruits, including banana, pineapple, mango, lemon, olive, and strawberry. The children were very excited to participate and eagerly tried each fruit. Many of them expressed their enjoyment by saying “yummy,” while others used facial expressions to show their reactions. Some children even asked for more, showing great enthusiasm for the activity. Overall, it was a fun and engaging experience that allowed them to explore different flavors through their senses.

Math

During our math class, we engaged in a fun and interactive counting and color-matching activity using pom-poms and colorful blocks. The children practiced recognizing colors and numbers as they sorted the pom-poms and matched them with the corresponding blocks. To guide them through the activity, we demonstrated how to count and match by placing the pom-poms into the blocks, reinforcing the concept visually and hands-on. The children eagerly participated, carefully selecting the correct pom-poms and placing them in their respective blocks. This activity not only helped strengthen their counting skills but also encouraged fine motor development and color recognition.
