Two Amazing Weeks In Infants Class!

Dear Parents,

We’ve had a wonderful recent two weeks in the Infants class! The children have settled in beautifully and have been enjoying their daily routines and activities. It’s been a joy to watch them explore, learn, and grow. We look forward to many more exciting moments together! As a reminder, tomorrow (Saturday October 26) will be our first family day of the year, and the theme is international day. Please see the flyer we sent in the group chat for more information!

Happy Birthday Andreas and Mohammed

Large group

The infants class had a fantastic time during our large group sessions! We usually start by making a big circle where the children each choose their own pillow based on color and size and sit by themselves. After settling in, we sang the "Good Morning Song” and we sang some of their favorite songs, like "Hands Go Up and Down", and "The Wheels on the Bus”.

Next, we move on to attendance, where the children stick their own picture on the attendance board and get a fun high-five! Afterward, we get up and dance together to the lively "I Like to Move It" song, which is always a big hit. Finally, we wrap up with story time, reading our book of choice, which was “I Love Hugs” this time. The children loved reading this book that highlighted themes of friendship and love. It’s been a joy watching them participate and grow each day!

Cooperative Game

During our recent cooperative game session we played a fun and engaging version of "Simon Says," which focused on body parts. The children were very attentive and followed along with great enthusiasm. When we said, "Simon says, touch your eye," they quickly touched their eyes, and when we said, "Simon says, touch your head," they did the same with their heads. It was wonderful to see how focused and engaged they were throughout the activity.

Even after the game, during snack time and recess, some of the children continued playing and practicing what they learned. It was a great way to reinforce body awareness and listening skills while having fun!

Gymnastic

During gymnastic time we did a lively stretching activity! First, we explained the activity to the children and introduced the materials we would be using, including a big ball. The children then began with stretching exercises using the ball, which helped them warm up and get ready for the rest of the session. It was a fun and active time, and the children enjoyed working with the big ball while practicing their stretches!

Language and Literacy

We had a wonderful time during our literacy and language activity this week! We started by singing the song "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes”, which the children really enjoyed. This helped them become familiar with the names of different body parts in a fun and engaging way.

Afterward, we printed out images of the body parts, and each child received two images  to work with. We explained how these pieces fit together to form the picture of a body, and then we guided them as they worked on putting the pieces together themselves. The children were very focused and engaged throughout the activity. As they successfully matched the pieces, they excitedly called out the names of the body parts. It was a great way to reinforce their language skills while having fun!

 Art

The infants class has been as creative and busy as ever in art! First, we did a handprint activity. The children were given the chance to choose their favorite paint colors, and then they stamped their handprints on paper. They had so much fun.

In the following session, we explored mixing colors. The children selected the colors they wanted and mixed them on white paper. It was exciting for them to see how the colors blended and created new shades. They loved the freedom to choose and experiment with the paints. These activities are helping them develop creativity and motor skills while having a great time!
