Weeks in Kindergarten
Greeting Dear parents!
How was your week? Our week was fascinating. We had lots of fun.
Large Group
We started our class by singing the "Good morning" song. After that we read a book together as a group and we also engaged in a circle time activity with new songs too. And it helped us to make it more fun.
Literacy
In this week in our literacy session, we learned about "self- portrait" the objective was to identify eyes, hair and skin tone and practice proper placement and representation of these features. This activity really helped our class to have a detailed observation and focusing skills.
Additionally, we kept on practicing what we have started in the previous class "opposite words" to help the children improve their vocabulary of descriptive words. For example, hard and easy, laugh and cry. Understanding certain opposite words can help understand kids to distinguish what is safe or not for example knowing the difference between hot and cold.
Math
In math we did Addition. It is one of the essential mathematical functions we use in our everyday math activity. So, this week we did the addition in a fun way "Addition and shade" This activity educate the children about shading the art and doing the math together. For some children, we had them count and matching the numbers. So doing math in a different way gave them so much excitement.
Science
This week in our science activity our class explored how different drinks affects our teeth and the importance of brushing by doing a fun science experiment. We started our experiment by putting a whole egg to three different liquids: water, vinegar, and coca cola. We left the experiment for overnight, and then the next day the students observed the change in the egg. The children learned that our teeth can easily stain from different drinks we consume. If we do not brush our teeth at night and in the morning, the food and drink we have during the day left to coat the tooth and can stain them permanently or lead to tooth decay. To further demonstrate the experiment, we began brushing the egg with a toothbrush by applying a toothpaste to an egg. They were amazed to see more and more of the coca cola stain to get brushed away.
